Getting restless...

March 04, 2013

HELP!! Can you believe it's already March?! When did that happen??
I'm getting kind of nervous and restless over here. When I think back to the past year, I'm thinking of quite a few great trips! Some longer and farther away than others, but all of them  equally amazing. This year though, I have no trips or vacations planned whatsoever and it's starting to make me seriously nervous.

Thing is, even though there are quite a few places I'd like to visit, I can't decide on anything!! (Story of my life...)

So I thought I'd turn to you for help. I'd like to take one or two trips within Europe and I definitely want to go back to the US this summer! However, since I've been to Chicago (be still my beating heart) last fall, and experienced how it feels to really get to know and spend time with the locals, having a classic vacation with sight seeing and living in a hotel doesn't cut it anymore. Do you know what I mean? I want to get to know the people, get the inside scoop on where to eat, shop, go out,... you name it. Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Sooo any suggestions or tips on where to go?! I only know one thing for sure... I CAN'T stay at home the whole year. I'm getting antsy just thinking about it...

Below a few snapshot of where I've spent the last year!
I've spent four awesome days shopping with a friend in London,...

...went skiing in Corinthia three weeks later,...

....and met up with one of my besties in Graz 4 weeks after that.

In May I took a 4 day trip to Italy with my whole family and then started saving up for...

...the most awesome trip ever! I've absolutely left a piece of my heart in this city.

We went to Vienna for a little pre-Christmas shopping..

...and ended the year basically on top of the world, in Tyrol. Not bad for 12 months. ;)

Seriously... my heart aches just looking at these pictures. I need to get away... and soon!!!

  1. Hast du schon mal an Couch Surfing gedacht? Ist sicher eine der besten Möglichkeiten die Leute und deren Kultur authentisch kennenzulernen :)

  2. I'd probably give Lisbon a go. And Belfast, if it comes to European cities. Have been to the latter, and absolutely loved it.
As a larger trip I'd perhaps plan a trip to somewhere warm (might be slightly biased since I am currently craving for sun), Thailand maybe.

    Loved your collages!
