Beauty Haul: Budget Finds

January 14, 2013

It's been a while since I've last been to the local drugstore. Actually since my friend Sabine stopped working at Bipa last October, I haven't been there once (which was very helpful in battling my Essie addiction ;D ).

So this past Saturday, when it was cold and grey and dreary, I decided that a little mini retail therapy was exactly what I needed. So in the spirit of saving money (I'm saving up for something really nice... I'll tell you about it soon) I thought I'd just stock up on a few make up necessities. So if you are looking for some great things for little money check this out...

Catrice Eyeliner Pen € 2,99 | Catrice Eyebrow Stylist € 2,49 | L'Oreal BB Cream € 14,99

I've tested a few eyebrow pencils over the last few year, and this one my favorite! Not because it's very different from all the others in terms of application, but firstly because the color fits my brows perfectly (lots of the lighter colors are kind of grey-ish...), and secondly, the price is just not to beat!

I know eyeliner pens are not everybody's cup of tea, but I admit I just can't handle these ultra-thin brush liners. Also some of the eyeliners I've tried before (cheap, expensive you name it) were a big disappointment. The problem probably lies with my eyes, but a lot of liners smudge like crazy, which let's face it, is not that attractive. This ridiculously cheap eyeliner pen, however doesn't smudge AT ALL! And as you can see, you can draw thick or thin lines, however you want.

I picked this BB cream up on a whim, because I've read a lot of great reviews about it. You can buy it in three shades, light, medium and dark and it adapts to your skin color. I have to admit, it worked like a charm! So if you are in the market for a new BB cream, I warmly recommend picking up this one.

Have a great Monday!

  1. Ahh, nice! I occasionally use eyeliner, but then can only handle liquid eyeliner (I use Estee Lauder). The soft eyeliner pencils applied on my eye tend to look like a total mess within half an hour. Not nice. Maybe yours is indeed an option to try out since it is not that expensive. The BB creme looks like I need to give it a go! Again, I use a Lauder product, which I LOVE, but this def cannot beat 15 EUR!

    Nice review!
    Have a good week!

    1. I love Estee Lauder. I use their Double Wear make up and concealer and couldn't be happier with them. However, their stuff is a bit on the pricey side, so I'm always happy to discover more budget friendly alternatives. :)

    Kisses,
    Simone

    1. Hi Anna,

  7. I"ve been wanting to try out that BB cream! Good to know it works. And I'm fond of eyeliner pens - I have some friends who hate them, but they work great for me.
